The Department of Housing and Residence Life and Campus Peace Action are collaborating to sponsor the Box City at the Tent City event on Tuesday March 30, 2010. The event will take place on the Memory Mall and starts at 12:00 Noon (you can go whenever you choose, but we all will be arriving at 9:00pm) on March 30th with live music at 5:00pm and a free movie (Sherlock Holmes) at 9:00pm.

64% of the homeless population in Central Florida are between 18-23 years of age. Some of our own students are affected and we want to do something about it and encourage others to get involved.

The idea is to be at the event that afternoon and evening (and even spend the night on the Memory Mall in the box city). Students can decorate their own boxes ahead of time or use a box provided to decorate at the event.

Donations will be collected at this event and all donations (food, clothing, blankets, school supplies, etc) will benefit the Knights helping Knights program at UCF.

There will also be activities such as speakers (Mr. UCF!), free food and tie dye!
