At their meeting today, the UCF Board of Trustees passed a proposal to add gender identity and expression into the University's non-discrimination policy.  UCF joins the ranks of over three hundred colleges and universities who have inclusive policies and offer protections for students, faculty, and staff from discrimination based on how they identify and express their gender.

This past Tuesday, September 7, 2010,  Equal hosted it's first meeting for the Houses of Orlando. In attendance were: the House of Infiniti, House of Adonis, House of Ninja, House of Deluxe, and the House of Andrews. Each house came out to explain their philanthropy within the gay community and it was an eye opening experience. Mostly in calrifying the negative connotations that houses have. Each house is a safe zone, a family if you will.

This Tuesday, August 31, 2010, Equal's political divsion SAFE (Students Advocating for Equality) brought parents from PFLAG to speak, bringing a Homecoming feel to Equal's second meeting of the semester.  Going down the line, hearing parents speak about not knowing, the surprise and the relief of their children coming out of the closet, several members were moved to tears.
